Trans Canada Trail Cleanup

Update: We had a great day on saturday with some great volunteers. Thanks to all who came out to help! See the pictures at following link: https://www.thebeast.ca/photo-gallery-2021-2022-season/

UPDATE:
Saturday July 24th we are proceeding with the trail brushing and chipping as planned. Here are the details,
We will meet at the park and ride at Hwy 7 and Cemetery Side Road at 8 a.m. Volunteers will be shuttled over to the work area to begin shortly after 8.
What you will need to bring,
Hearing protection, eye protection, work clothes, good boots or shoes that are waterproof (wet grass) and work gloves. Any chainsaws or other tools required will be available on site. If you wish to bring your own refreshments that’s fine but there will be a cooler with refreshments paid for by the club. Lunch will be provided by the club.

We hope you can help. See you then.
Email us if you can make it or if any questions at info@thebeast.caBackground:
The BEAST was fortunate to receive a grant to be used exclusively upgrading the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) from Stittsville to Carleton Place. The grant has some strings attached though in that the work needs to be completed before July 31, 2021. Efforts have been made to begin working on the trail but we will need some help to finish.

On Saturday July 24th, we have the use of a much larger chipper for the entire day. We will need many able bodied people to feed the chipper.

Cheers,
Ian Edwards
BEAST President
