Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great summer. I know it's only the beginning of August and that snowmobiling probably isn't on most people's radar yet, but it will be here before we know it and we have some things we need to get in order to prepare for the upcoming season.
We still have a few administrative positions open within the organization, the main one we are still on the look out for is a President.
We are also on the lookout for a couple trail directors in our eastern sectors.
As important as the President position is, the truth is we really need more help in the Eastern regions. Many of our trails in the East were not able to open last season. A lot of this is because of the lack of deep cold last year so the swamps out that way did not freeze enough to run a groomer down them safely. There are some things we can do to help old man winter out with this but we need the volunteer power to achieve this. Without volunteers we are at risk of losing these trails permanently.
For those not aware, we hold a regular monthly meeting from September through to April.
In the past these have normally taken place around Carleton Place but in an effort to build up a stronger volunteer base we are heading out on tour.
Our first meeting this year will be at Danbys Roadhouse (6127 Perth street) in Richmond, on September 7th at 7:30.
Everyone is welcome to come and check it out, we hope to see a lot of new faces this year.
