Grooming

Snowmobile trails are groomed to provide a nearly smooth and safer riding surface. This is accomplished by manipulating (moving, flattening, rototilling, or compacting) the snow, on and around the trail, using a snow groomer vehicle. BEAST has used various different types of modified tractors and industrial groomers over the years.

See the following link to the Upper Canada Snowmobile Region website for groomer operators information and training: UCSR Groomer Operator Training

The BEAST now has three groomers:

  • North East / South East – 2001 BR 180
  • South West – 2022 Prinoth Husky – this new machine was added for the 2023 Season
  • North West – 2012 Prinoth Husky – this used machine was added for 2021 Season (OFSC provided us with a used re-purposed machine, from the Northern OFSC trail system)
